Construction Notice – Norman Street Access to Petawawa Boulevard

The Town of Petawawa has contracted Bonnechere Excavating Incorporated (BEI) for the construction of the Norman Street Access to Petawawa Boulevard. The project is scheduled to begin construction on April 27, 2026 and is anticipated to be completed in July 2026.

The project works will include grading, granular base, hot mix paving, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, storm sewer improvements, water service installation, raised traffic island within Petawawa Boulevard, pedestrian crossover installation, street lighting, pavement markings, EV charger works and landscape restoration.

Lane closures will be required to complete the work, however , one lane will remain open for local traffic and emergency services vehicles. There may be periods when access to driveways will be restricted (asphalt paving, new pipeline installation, etc.), however, the contractor will provide affected residents with as much notification as possible.

Properties located adjacent to the limits of construction will receive a notification from Englobe, on behalf of Bonnechere Excavating Inc. (BEI), requesting authorization to complete a pre-construction inspection of their private property. Property owners are encouraged to schedule this free inspection prior to the start of construction, and should be advised that these inspections will only be performed at the discretion of the individual property owners or their representatives. This inspection is completed to provide a baseline of the condition of the house prior to the commencement of construction. It would only be referred to should a resident feel that damage was done to their house as a result of the construction activity.

The engineering firm of Jp2g Consultants Inc. has been retained to complete the contract administration and on-site inspection services required by this project. Residents or property owners are encouraged to contact Brandon Harkins from Jp2g Consultants Inc. at 613-735-2507 or by email brandon.harkins@jp2g.com should you have any questions or concerns relating to this project during the course of construction.

The Town of Petawawa appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation throughout this construction project.
