The Town of Petawawa is currently seeking responsible, energetic individuals to fulfill the role of Facility Operator Assistant for the upcoming summer season. The Facility Operator Assistant works with the Facility Operator to assist with the completion of cleaning and maintenance tasks, as well as setting up facilities for programming.
Description of Position:
• Assist with ice maintenance as well as turf maintenance, including grass cutting, trimming, thatching and fertilizing; uses a variety of vehicles, hand and power tools and cleaning equipment
• Assist in cleanliness of facilities, including washrooms, change rooms, arena stands, parking lots, tennis courts, playing fields, community trails, playgrounds and general grounds
• Assist in the maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment
• Assist with program readiness, special events, fields, grounds, and festivals
Qualifications:
• Must be a minimum of 14 years of age
• Valid Class G driver’s license preferred
• Be physically capable of carrying out assigned tasks
• Must work well in a team and be trustworthy
• Ability to represent the Town in a positive and professional manner
• Ability to exercise initiative and responsibility
Hours of Work:
• 30-40 hours per week, evenings and weekends required
• Potential to stay on during the school year at reduced hours
Rate of Pay: $17.60 per hour.
