Recommendation:
That Council approves the award of Tender PW-08-2024, Murphy Road Reconstruction, to the lowest bidder being Bonnechere Excavating Inc. in the amount of $4,413,772.01 plus HST.
Discussion:
The tender was prepared and advertised in a local paper and on our website. Eight (8) firms requested tender packages and two (2) firms submitted complete tender packages on the closing date of May 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
Contractor and Tender Price (excluding HST):
Bonnechere Excavating Inc. - $4,413,772.01
McCrea Excavating Ltd. - $4,910,094.00
Financial Implication:
The estimated construction budget for this project was $4,920,000.00, excluding HST, and has been included in the 2024 budget. The County of Refnrew has agreed to fund 50% of the project and will contribute an amount not to exceed $2,460,000.00 based on the parameters of the cost sharing agreement adopted by By-law 1640/24 on March 18, 2024.
