Recommendation:
That Council approves the award of Tender PW-01-2024, Portage Road Reconstruction Phase 2, to the lowest bidder being McCrea Excavating Ltd. in the amount of $1,138,777.00 plus HST.
Discussion:
The tender was prepared and advertised in a local paper and on our website. Seven (7) firms requested tender packages and three (3) firms submitted complete tender packages on the closing date of March 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
Contractor and Tender Price (excluding HST):
Bonnechere Excavating Inc. - $1,538,338.29
Do-All Construction - $1,210,078.00
McCrea Excavating Ltd. - $1,138,777.00
Financial Implication:
The estimated construction budget for this project was $1,447,552.05, excluding HST, and has been included in the 2024 budget.
