Recommendation:
That Council approves the award of Tender FD-02-2024, One (1) 2024 or 2025 Four Wheel Drive ¾ Ton Truck, to Murphy Ford Sales Ltd. in the amount of $70,000.00 plus HST.
Background:
This item was first tendered under FD-01-2024 with a closing date of May 7, 2024. The tender was advertised on the Town’s website and in a local newspaper. Three (3) firms requested tender packages and zero (0) firms submitted complete tender packages by the closing date.
Staff made some minor modifications and reduced the scope of the tender specifications and re-tendered under FD-02-2024.
The tender was prepared and advertised in a local paper and on our website. Five (5) firms requested tender packages and two (2) firms submitted complete tender packages on the closing date of July 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. as noted below:

Murphy Ford Sales Ltd. - $70,000.00
Urban Ford - $70,279.00
Murphy Ford Sales Ltd.’s quote is for a 2024 Ford F250, ¾ Ton, Crew Cab, 4 x 4 truck; expected delivery date is October 28, 2024, if ordered prior to July 31, 2024.
Financial Implication:
The approved 2024 budget for the purchase of the truck is $85,000.00.
Additional accessories and equipment will need to be purchased for the truck. Additional funds may need to be budgeted for in 2025 to complete the fit-up for the truck.
