Tourism Ambassador - Summer Employment

The Town of Petawawa is currently seeking a responsible, enthusiastic and outgoing Tourism Ambassador to promote and support Town programming and tourism opportunities.

Description of Position:

  • Oversees all duties at the Visitor Information Centre located at the Petawawa Comfort Station
  • Assists visitors with information pertaining to local tourism attractions, events and accommodations
  • Works with local tourism organizations and businesses to create collaborations and information sharing opportunities
  • Maintains updated information on local businesses, distributes brochures, manages displays and ensures the visitor centre remains clean and organized
  • Prepares attendance lists and tracks attendance, feedback and usage trends
  • Reviews, completes and follows up on daily occurrences and daily financial reports

Qualifications:

  • Keen interest and general understanding of local tourist attractions in and around Petawawa
  • Formal studies in recreation, tourism or marketing
  • Current First Aid/CPR and valid driver’s license required
  • High energy, self starter and ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Experience working with all age groups, with a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude

Hours of Work:

  • May 24 - June 29, 2025 (14 hours per week - weekends)
  • July 2 - August 31, 2025 (35 hours per week - Wednesday - Sunday, 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.)

Rate of Pay:  $18.01 per hour.
