The Town of Petawawa is currently seeking a responsible, enthusiastic and outgoing Summer Day Camp Director for our active and diverse summer camps (ages 4-12 years old). The Summer Day Camp Director will act as a role model and leader alongside camp staff in providing campers with a fun, safe and educational camp experience.
Description of Position:
- Implementation and active involvement in all aspects of the summer camp programs, including designing, planning, and delivering programs
- Supervise staff with guidance from the Recreation Program Coordinator
- Assist with responding to parent questions and concerns to ensure customer satisfaction
- Assist with registering campers and preparing attendance lists and tracking and maintaining attendance and registration records
- Review, complete and follow up on incident reports and report to the Recreation Program Coordinator
- Learn and teach assigned camp curriculum and weekly camp programming
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children ages 4-12 in a camp or educational setting
- Experience supervising staff in a camp environment or related discipline preferred
- Current CPR-C and First Aid certifications
- Formal studies in Education, Recreation/Leisure, Outdoor Recreation or Physical Education, an asset
- Valid driver’s license
- High Five certification (or willing to obtain)
Hours of Work:
- May 5 - June 27, 2025: 30 hours per week
- July - August 29, 2025: 40+ hours per week
Rate of Pay: $22.62 per hour.
