Museum Maintenance Technician/Interpreter - Summer Employment
The Town of Petawawa, in partnership with the Petawawa Heritage Village, is currently seeking a responsible, self-motivated individual to maintain the museum sites and grounds and to provide tours of the museum.
Description of Position:
- Responsible for opening and closing the site, maintaining the museum grounds including gardens and maintaining buildings, structures, and artifacts
- Cleaning and painting of the buildings and equipment/displays on site
- Welcomes visitors to the Heritage Village and provides educational guided tours
- Responsible for ticket sales, managing the gift store, keeping track of attendance
- Encourages survey completion, handles information requests and promotes membership and volunteerism
Qualifications:

Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience in grounds maintenance and gardening
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal and public relations skills
- Experience handling cash
- An interest in local history, an asset.
- Note: an extensive orientation and training will be provided to the successful candidate
Hours of Work:
- June - August 2024 (10 weeks)
- 21 hours per week, weekends required
Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour.
