The Petawawa Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Committee is currently seeking Indigenous individuals interested in helping the Town develop and implement an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan for the Town of Petawawa, to address inclusivity and diversity barriers faced by the members of our community.
The Town of Petawawa honours the Algonquin Anishinaabeg people, on whose unceded traditional territory the Town of Petawawa is located. Petawawa extends this respect to all First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, their ancestors, their Elders and their valuable past and present contributions to this land.
The Petawawa EDI Committee recognizes the impact and legacy of colonization and ongoing systemic racism on the health and well-being of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, and aspires to be a culturally humble and safe organization and is strongly committed to public actions that promote inclusion, equity and reconciliation.
