The Petawawa Heritage Society is the non-profit organization responsible for the development and maintenance of the Petawawa Heritage Village. As the stewards of the area's pre-1914 Canadian History, the organization is challenged with the ongoing and ever-growing responsibility to preserve and restore its many exhibits.
The mandate of the Society includes collecting and preserving materials pertaining to the town and its environment, interpreting the history of the area through exhibitions, educational programs, and publications, perpetuating the memory and spirit of pioneers, encouraging historical research, today & tomorrow, and keeping our Town Council informed on matters of historical interest.
Making historical information available for the enjoyment and benefit of the tourism industry as well as local residents has always been a foremost objective of the Petawawa Heritage Society.
