Asphalt Preservation Program

WHERE:

Work will be taking place on Golf Course Road (from Petawawa Boulevard to end of new pavement), Airport Road (from Doran Road to Len Hopkins Drive), Len Hopkins Drive (from Airport Road to tie in point at Airport Office), Black Bay Road (from Doran Road to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church), and a small portion of Rantz Road.

WHEN:

Work is expected to occur between July 2nd and July 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.

WHAT:

Superior Road Products will be applying an in-depth asphalt seal to the road surface. This in-depth seal will enhance the performance of the asphalt street thereby lowering lifecycle service costs. Sand cover will be swept up within 24 hours after sealing (weather permitting).

HOW YOU MAY BE AFFECTED:

When travelling through the work zone, motorists can expect delays as a result of lane reductions and work crews. Access to residential and commercial properties will be maintained; however, some minor delays may be encountered as the work passes in front of each driveway.

Motorists may wish to consider an alternate route through Town while the work is being conducted. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience during this time.

Please observe all sign and flag person's directions. Use CAUTION when driving on loose sand. Drive SLOWLY (5 km) if you accidentally enter a freshly treated area that has not been sanded. Sealer can be removed from a vehicle with a pressure washer and degreaser soap. Keep children and pets out of treated areas to avoid tracking into houses. Material tracked on driveways will weather off within a few weeks.
