The Town of Petawawa has contracted Bonnechere Excavating Inc. for the reconstruction of Murphy Road from Woodland Crescent to Petawawa Boulevard (a distance of 1.4 km). This project is scheduled to begin construction in June 2024 and is anticipated to be completed in November 2024. The Town of Petawawa and the County of Renfrew have entered into a 50/50 cost sharing agreement to fund this construction project.

The project works will include paving and grading, concrete curbs, asphalt multi-use pathway, watermain improvements, storm sewer improvements, sanitary sewer improvements, landscaping, site restorations and line painting. Road Closures will be required to complete the work. Detours will be put in place. There will be periods when access to driveways will be restricted (asphalt driveway paving, new pipeline installation, etc.), however, the contractor will provide affected residents with as much notification as possible.

Properties located in close proximity to the limits of construction will receive a letter/notification from OZA Inspections Ltd., on behalf of Bonnechere Excavating Inc. requesting authorization to complete a pre-construction inspection of their private property. Property owners are encouraged to schedule this free inspection prior to the start of construction, and should be advised that these inspections will only be performed at the discretion of individual property owners or their representatives.  This inspection is completed to provide a baseline of the condition of the house prior to the commencement of construction.  It would only be referred to should a resident feel that damage was done to their house as a result of the construction activity.

The engineering firm of Jp2g Consultants Inc. has been retained to complete the contract and field administration services required by this project. Residents or property owners are encouraged to contact Brandon Harkins from Jp2g Consultants Inc. at 613-735-2507 or by email brandonh@jp2g.com should you have any questions or concerns relating to this project during the course of construction.

The Town of Petawawa appreciates residents' patience and cooperation throughout the construction project.
