Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park

The Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park is a unique jewel located in the centre of Petawawa. With 215 hectares of green space, the parks boasts various environments that include an abundance of vegetation and wildlife. Numerous interpretive panels feature Ontario wildlife such as songbirds, waterfowl, frogs, turtles, and owls.

The park contains an upper and lower trail system and is suitable for walking, snowshoeing, biking and cross-country skiing. Take caution from spring to fall as some areas in the lower portion may be difficult to safely navigate (marsh, wetlands). Winter conditions allow access to extended areas in the lower portion and snowshoes are recommended.

The main entrance to the Terrace is along Laurentian Drive where there is small parking lot. Fish Hatchery Park is right next door and features play structures and a covered sun shelter which is a perfect spot to plan a picnic at the end of your outing.  Two additional entrance are located across from Civic Centre Road and Highland Park Drive (no parking).  A lesser-known entrance is located off Sunset Crescent; the trail from this side passes through marsh and streams so you may have to retrace your steps depending on the time of year.

Please note that there are no Ontario Parks visitor services, facilities or activities at this park. Also, the map signage is outdated. There are a few extra side trails not shown and other trails are overgrown or inaccessible at various times of the year.
