Commemorative Boardwalk Program - Get on Board!
The Comfort Station commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Town of Petawawa’s amalgamation. While Petawawa’s roots stretch back over 150 years—with the Township incorporated in 1865 and the Village in 1961—it was in 1997 that the two were unified to form the Town of Petawawa.
Located along the scenic Algonquin Trail, a former CP rail line, the Comfort Station is designed as a modern replica of a train station platform. Its key feature is a fully accessible, year-round public washroom. Inside, visitors will also find a rest area, office space, and a Visitor Information Centre stocked with local maps and staffed by friendly faces ready to share information about Petawawa’s amenities, events, and attractions.
Leave a Lasting Legacy Along the Trail
Celebrate the lives and memories of loved ones by purchasing a personalized floorboard plaque on the boardwalk at Petawawa’s Comfort Station—beautifully located along the Algonquin Trail.
The Commemorative Boardwalk Program offers a meaningful way for individuals, families, and organizations to honour friends, family members, or special milestones. Each custom plaque will be affixed to a floorboard on the scenic boardwalk that surrounds the Comfort Station, becoming a permanent part of this legacy space.
Whether you’re paying tribute, celebrating a memory, or leaving your mark, this is your opportunity to be part of Petawawa’s evolving history.
