Planning a special event in our community? The Town of Petawawa is here to support event organizers and ensure events comply with local and provincial regulations — including property use, roadways, environmental standards, and fire and building codes.
There are two types of event planning processes depending on the location and organizer:
Events on Municipal or Residential Property
If you are:
- Planning an event at a municipal location (e.g., Centennial Park, Petawawa Point, or any other Town-owned space), or
- A resident planning an event on your own property
You must follow the Special Event Policies and Procedures Manual, which outlines the approval process, permit requirements, and operational guidelines.

Business Events on Private Property
If you are a business planning an event on your business property, please visit the Economic Development page. The Economic Development Department provides tailored resources and support for local businesses hosting events, including:
Public safety and risk management
Permit and licensing requirements
Departmental coordination and approvals
