Residential Structure Fire, 562 Biesenthal Road

Petawawa, ON – On Sunday, January 30, 2022 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Town of Petawawa Fire Department responded for a report of a structure fire at 562 Biesenthal Road. On arrival, flames were exiting the roof of a single-story residential home. The fire crew conducted an interior fire attack and searched the home. Two residents were able to selfevacuate and were alerted to the fire by their family dog. The fire damaged the roof and living room area on the main floor. The scene was brought under control within one hour. Nine firefighters and two pumpers from the Town of Petawawa responded. The National Defence Fire Service from Garrison Petawawa provided two personnel and a tanker for water supply. Hydro One also attended the scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The home did have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. There were no injuries reported.
