Petawawa, ON – On Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at approximately 9:45 p.m., the Town of Petawawa Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 61 Chad Street, within the Laurentian Highlands subdivision. Light smoke was exiting a second floor window on arrival. Fire crews made entry and conducted search and suppression operations as well as fire extension checks. The fire was brought under control within twenty minutes. Fire crews remained on the scene through the night as a fire watch. Two pumpers and eight personnel responded to the incident. The occupant was assessed by the Renfrew County Paramedics for possible smoke inhalation. No injuries were reported. There were working smoke alarms in the house. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
