Petawawa, ON – On Wednesday August 28, 2024 at approximately 4:00 a.m., the Town of Petawawa Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Jan Drive. When Fire Crews arrived on scene they were faced with heavy fire exiting the rear and roof of the structure. Fire crews initiated a defensive attack as everyone from within the structure was accounted for; it took approximately thirty minutes, eighteen firefighters and three pumper trucks to bring the fire under control. The building suffered extensive damage to the inside and roof area. Fire crews will remain on scene checking for fire extension and overhaul operations. The cause of fire is currently under investigation. Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police, Renfrew County Paramedics, and Hydro One also attended the scene.
