BY-LAW 1310/19

BEING A BY-LAW TO PRESCRIBE A TARIFF OF FEES FOR THE PROCESSING OF APPLICATIONS MADE IN RESPECT OF PLANNING MATTERS IN THE TOWN OF PETAWAWA

WHEREAS the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13, Section 69, as amended, provides that a Council of a Municipality may by by-law prescribe a tariff of fees for the processing of applications made in respect of planning matters;

AND WHEREAS Council deems it expedient to update the tariff of fees to reflect the cost to the municipality for processing applications;

NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PETAWAWA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

  1. That Schedule “A” attached hereto, and forming part of this by-law, shall be adopted as the tariff of fees with respect to the planning matters indicated thereon for the Town of Petawawa.
  2. That the fees collected under the authority of this by-law, relate to the costs incurred for the review, preparation of documents and processing as required under the Planning Act.
  3. That the fees contained in Schedule “A” shall come into force and take effect on January 1, 2020.
  4. That the tariff of fees imposed pursuant to this by-law shall be adjusted annually on January 1, without amendment to this by-law, in accordance with the Statistics Canada Quarterly, Construction Price Statistics, catalogue number 62-007.
  5. That By-law No. 478/08 of the Town of Petawawa is hereby repealed.
  6. That this by-law shall come into force and take effect following third reading.

Extension of Subdivision Draft Approval $500.00
Lifting of Part Lot Control Application $500.00
Consent Application $750.00
Sale of Waterfront Road Allowances/ Road Allowances Leading to Water $1,000.00 plus associated costs
Other Planning Matters:
i) If technical studies are required the all costs associated with the study is the responsibility of applicant.
ii) All costs associated with peer review of any technical studies is the responsibility of the applicant.
iii) Technical studies include, but are not limited to: hydrogeology studies, environmental impact studies, servicing options studies, traffic studies, soil studies and noise assessment studies.
iv) Where any planning matter is appealed to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) the applicant shall be responsible for all costs.
