Notice of Application and Public Meeting

In the matter of Section 34 of the Planning Act, the Town of Petawawa hereby gives NOTICE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Application to amend the Zoning By-law 456/07 of the Town of Petawawa.

  1. A public meeting regarding an application for an amendment to the Zoning By-law 456/07 of the Town of Petawawa.

Subject Lands:    Part of Lot 18, Concession 7, in the Town of Petawawa, as shown on the attached Key Map.

Public Meeting: A public meeting to inform the public of the proposed zoning by-law amendment will be held on November 18, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the municipal office of the Town of Petawawa.

Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment

The purpose of the application is to rezone the subject lands as a condition of approval for consent applications B22/23(1), B23/23(2), and B24/23(3).

The effect of the application will be to:

  • Item #1: Rezone the retained lands to Rural - Exception Twenty (RU-E20) with the following zone provisions:
    • An accessory structure (horse barn with additional residential unit) may be constructed prior to the primary dwelling;
    • The maximum area of the horse barn shall be restricted to 116 square metres;
    • The maximum area of the additional residential unit above the horse barn shall be restricted to 75 square metres;
    • The maximum height of the accessory structure (horse barn with additional residential unit) shall be restricted to 8 metres; and
    • The proposed accessory structure is not required to share the parking area and yards of the primary dwelling.
  • Item #2: Rezone the severed parcels in B22/23(1), B23/23(2) and B24/23(3) from Rural (RU) to Residential One (R1).

Additional information regarding the zoning by-law amendment is available for inspection at the Town of Petawawa Municipal Office during regular office hours.

Other Applications

Consent Applications B22/23(1), B23/23(2) & B24/23(3) were granted on July 31, 2024, conditional on this zoning by-law amendment. A Development Agreement will be entered into with the owner to ensure compliance with the items set out in Item 1 above.
