October 15, 2024 – Petawawa ON – The Town of Petawawa is pleased to announce that the Container Market was selected for the My Main Street Community Activator and has received support to expand and provide diverse programming in 2024.

In May 2024, the Town of Petawawa opened two new 7’ x 7’ container units at the Container Market, providing temporary storefront space to support more entrepreneurs. Throughout the season, visitors and marketgoers enjoyed yoga in the park and live music under a new gazebo also supported by My Main Street. These improvements have enhanced local business exposure and provided more animation opportunities to support the market experience in our community.

The Petawawa Container Market is a unique market concept in the heart of Petawawa featuring independent shipping containers that serve as storefronts for entrepreneurs and area businesses. The market season runs from May to mid-October with vendors open Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There are also different themed events throughout the year hosted on-site including; the Cultural Connection Market in June, Christmas in July Market, Youth Entrepreneur Market in August, the Fall Harvest Market, as part of the Petawawa Ramble, and the Holiday Tailgate Market, in December. The Container Market is located at 16 Civic Centre Road in the Town of Petawawa with more information available on the municipal website: Petawawa Container Market - The Town of Petawawa.
