FCM Funding Announcement through Municipal Asset Management Program

Petawawa, ON – Today the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and the Government of Canada announced the approved funding for the Town of Petawawa asset management initiative through the Municipal Asset Management Program. The Town of Petawawa gathered data on inventory and condition assessment of roads, sidewalks, and Right-of-Way assets. In addition, the Town reviewed past closed circuit television video of the sanitary sewer system to categorize deficiencies using the NASSCO Pipeline Assessment Certification Program. This will enable the Town to move away from age-based prioritization to condition based. Finally, the Town will utilize a standard tool to capture, monitor and track linear assets. FCM and Canada have provided $41,474.00 towards this $85,000 project. The work was undertaken in 2021 and was completed in January, 2022.
