How to Register

Courts & Fields

Civic Centre Sports Fields

  • 3 soccer fields (2 multi-purpose for soccer, football, or rugby)

  • 3 slo-pitch ball diamonds

  • 400m, six-lane track (maintained with the Renfrew County District School Board)

  • Parking, washrooms, and canteen services for seasonal use, single games, or tournaments

Additional Fields in Petawawa

  • Mohns Memorial Park – 1 baseball diamond, 1064 Victoria St. (no washrooms)

  • Kiddyland Park – youth slo-pitch diamond, 11 Norman St. (washrooms available)

Booking Information

  • Seasonal client/group requests open January 31 each year

  • Rates updated annually on September 1

  • Advertising opportunities available at all locations

Located at the Civic Centre (16 Civic Centre Road), our outdoor courts are available for both tennis and pickleball

Public Drop-in ($8/hour)

To pay your drop in fee, please visit the recreation office located inside the civic centre (library entrance) from 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, or the Kinhut from 4:30 pm to 9 pm weeknights and daily on weekends. 

There are no tennis / pickleball rackets available for rent at the Civic Centre.

Petawawa Tennis and Pickleball Club Seasonal Membership
  • Adult/Senior – $100.00
  • Youth under 18 and full-time students – $40.00
  • Family (2 adults + Children under 18) – $210.00
  • Visitor (one month) – $30.00

Hours of Operation 

The courts are available seven (7) days a week from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm (see schedule below for details)

NOTE: Areas highlighted in GREEN are reserved for the Petawawa Tennis & Pickleball Club.  Areas highlighted in BLUE are available for rent. 

Drop-in users have priority use outside of Petawawa Tennis and Pickleball Club Membership programming indicated on the schedule, club members may play during these times if space is available. Drop-in players may also join in during club programming, but club members get priority access during club scheduled programs. 

Public-use times will vary depending on bookings, events, and tournaments.

Visit the Recreation Office inside the Petawawa Civic Centre during open hours to reserve the court. You will be asked to complete a facility request form, and payment can be made using cash, debit or cheque.

Arena & Skating

The Petawawa Civic Centre Arena is at the heart of our community year-round. With an 83.5′ x 183.5′ ice surface and seating for over 550 spectators, it’s the perfect place to cheer on local teams or enjoy a skate with family and friends.

October to March
The arena comes alive in the winter months! Our ice is in high demand with local youth hockey, adult leagues, schools, and exciting tournaments. We also host public skating sessions throughout the week, offering a chance for everyone to get out on the ice.

April to September
When the ice is out, the fun doesn’t stop—the arena floor is available for a variety of bookings, from community events to sports and activities.

Free Skates: Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:00 PM to 1:00PM

Public Skates: Sundays from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Cash or Debit accepted at the Canteen

  • Children: $2.00

Stollers are not permitted on the ice & all persons must be wearing skates on the ice.

 

Skating Aids for Toddlers & Skate Sleds for Infants

Civic Centre Arena is home to year-round activity! Enjoy an 83.5′ x 183.5′ ice surface with seating for 550+ fans from October to March. From April to September, book the arena floor for community events, sports, or special functions.

Rental rates are updated annually on September 1.

Sponsored Skate & Advertising Opportunities

Businesses and organizations are invited to sponsor public skating—a great way to promote your business.  Sponsored skates can align with our scheduled public skating times or be booked for an additional timeslot.

We also offer advertising opportunities on arena boards and walls. Standard sign size is 8′ x 3′, with limited availability.

Private Ice Rentals
  • Private ice rental availability is very limited. We encourage residents to enjoy our scheduled public skating times or visit the Outdoor Rink for recreational skating.

Seasonal User Groups & Tournaments

The Civic Centre is proud to host local hockey associations, skating clubs, and community groups each season. To ensure fair distribution of ice time, we follow the Town’s Ice Allocation Policy.

Seasonal Ice Requests

  • April 1: Request forms are emailed to all recognized seasonal user groups.

  • April 30: Completed forms must be returned to the Bookings Clerk.

  • All requests are reviewed together to create a master schedule for the upcoming season.

  • Priority is given to youth organizations, followed by adult recreational leagues, special events, and tournaments.

Tournament & Special Event Bookings

Groups planning to host tournaments, competitions, or large special events must submit their requests as early as possible to secure availability.

  • Tournament dates should be included in the seasonal request form whenever possible.

  • Additional tournament requests may be considered based on availability after the seasonal schedule is finalized.

  • Event organizers are responsible for any additional requirements such as insurance, licenses, or permits.

  • 10:00 – 12:00 PM: Public Skate (no sticks or pucks permitted)
  • 12:00 – 2:00 PM: Open Skate
  • 2:00 – 4:00 PM: Public Skate (no sticks or pucks permitted)
  • 4:00 – 10:00 PM: Open Skate

Code of Conduct

  • This facility is unsupervised
  • No more than 25 persons on the ice at a time
  • No food or drink on the ice surface
  • No horseplay/games
  • No figure skating maneuvers
  • No erratic/excessive speeds
  • Skate with the direction of all skaters
  • Helmets are strongly recommended
  • Alcohol is prohibited on the premises
  • Be kind and share the ice

Additional Information

  • The rink is lit in the evenings.
  • There are no washrooms on site, however changerooms are available.

Facilities

Petawawa Civic Centre

The Civic Centre is Petawawa’s hub for recreation, fun, and community activities. Enjoy our arena, sports fields, ball diamonds, bike park, track and field facilities, tennis and beach volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, mini putt, and the Civitan Playland—featuring an accessible children’s playground and splash pad.

The Civic Centre also houses the Petawawa Public Library, offering a wide range of resources and programs for all ages.

Civitan Playland Park is built for fun, inclusion, and accessibility. This fully accessible playground and splash pad ensures children and families of all abilities can enjoy safe, active play together.

Located in the “Back 40” of the Civic Centre grounds, is Petawawa’s fully fenced leash-free dog park with open space, forested areas, and shelters for owners.

Equipment Rentals

Arena
Features an 83.5′ x 183.5′ ice surface with spectator seating for 554. The arena floor is available April–September for floor hockey, birthdays, vendor events, concerts, receptions, and other special events.

Banquet Hall
6,000 sq. ft. with seating for 272, customizable for vendor shows, dances, weddings, meetings, or fitness classes. Includes kitchen use (Renfrew County Health Unit certified), cloakroom on request, and bar service through the Petawawa Civic Centre Fundraising Committee.

Fundraising Lounge
Accommodates up to 20 people with tables and chairs. Ideal for small meetings, birthday parties, baby showers, crafts, or as additional space for larger events.

The Hall and Lounge are upstairs in the Civic Centre and accessible by elevator or stairs.

Rotary Room

Located off the Civic Centre lobby, the Rotary Room features a small kitchenette and shared washrooms. Bookings are made through the Petawawa Public Library, with set-up coordinated with the Community Services Department.

We offer two types of birthday party packages which include food, drinks, and space to accommodate your guests. Packages are available for 10 or 20 guests.

Pricing:

10 participants: $185 (taxes included)
20 participants: $280 (taxes included)

Mini-Putt Package (Available June to September):

  • Use of the Kinhut table area for 3 hours (or Lounge during inclement weather)
  • Pizza, Drinks and Cake
  • Utensils
  • Mini-putt passes

Public Skating Package – Sundays Only (Available October to March):

  • Use of the Lounge for 3 hours before or after the public skate (10 am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm)
  • Pizza, Drinks, and Cake
  • Utensils
  • Public skating passes

Additional Information:

Packages include table and chair set-up. Decorations must be done within the 3-hour rental; painter’s tape may be used only for hanging items. All supplies must be brought, cleaned up, and removed.

Staff are not included and are not available for child supervision or related services.
